Areas of Practice

Commercial and Business Litigation

We have extensive experience trying commercial and business cases before judges, juries, and administrative agencies, as well as handling appeals at all levels of the state and federal court systems. We are well known throughout Nevada and the region’s legal communities for our expertise, dedication, and ability to resolve complex and sophisticated disputes in a cost-effective manner.

commercial real estate

We represent developers, owners, investors, and lenders, both local and national, in a wide array of real estate disputes and transactions. We are known for their expertise and success in handling complicated real estate issues, including acquisitions, lending, land use, construction, leasing, foreclosures, mechanic liens, landlord tenant disputes, and bankruptcy matters.  We were instrumental in the enactment of Nevada’s first commercial leasing statute in 2011 and are regularly consulted regarding proposed changes to Nevada laws pertaining to landlord and tenant rights.

Bankruptcy and Creditor rights

Our bankruptcy and creditor rights practice is nationally recognized and one of the strongest and most active in Nevada. We represent a broad range of local and national clients in all aspects of insolvency and restructuring proceedings, including chapter 11 reorganizations, business liquidations, distressed asset sales, fraudulent transfer claims, and bankruptcy-related litigation.

foreclosures and receiverships

We have proven track record of representing secured lenders and other interested parties in foreclosure and receivership proceedings. We can guide lenders through the unique aspects of foreclosing on real and personal property in Nevada. We also understand how a receivership can be used to protect collateral and provide clients with the best overall outcome. We have handled receiverships involving sales of income producing real estate, such as hotels and apartments, and the operation and management of businesses for the benefit of creditors.

healthcare professionals

We regularly represent Nevada physicians and other medical providers in business litigation and other disputes. We understand the unique challenges associated with operating a successful medical practice as well as the personal financial issues that healthcare professionals often encounter outside of their practices. We have successfully represented healthcare professions in resolving disputes related to employment, investment, financing, real estate, vendor, and partnership matters.

administrative law

We have considerable experience representing local and national clients, including lenders and real estate brokers, in licensing and administrative matters pending before the Nevada Financial Institutions Division, the Nevada Mortgage Lending Division, and the Nevada Real Estate Division. Nevada lender licensing laws are somewhat antiquated and often confusing. We have the experience necessary to advise clients as to complex compliance and licensing issues.
